NRH Mayor Visits Green Valley Elementary
North Richland Hills Mayor Oscar Trevino recently visited Green Valley Elementary to thank fifth-grade scholars for their THANK YOU notes to him. Scholars thanked the mayor for the awesome NRH parks, bike trails and for just being an awesome leader.

Mullendore Elementary Clothing Drive benefiting the Clothes Connection
Mullendore Elementary is having a clothing drive to benefit the Birdville Council of PTAs Clothes Connection Oct. 26 – Nov. 6. Please bring gently used children’s and/or adult clothing and place in the box inside the front door at the school. Donations of NEW underwear and socks will also be much appreciated.
Congratulations to RHS Honors Band
Congratulations to Richland High School’s Honors Band, under the direction of Jason Bird, for being recognized as a commended winner in the National Mark of Excellence competition hosted by The Foundation for Music Education. While they do not release exact placements, this award means the RHS Honors Band is one of the top 14 bands from across the nation that submitted to the contest. Along with the ensemble recognition, graduates Taylor Wyatt and Nicole Griffin, were named outstanding soloists. Pictured with their honor are drum majors Vicky Murillo and Josh Alpert.
NRH Environmental Education Grant Program and Green Campus winners announced
The City of North Richland Hills’ Keep NRH Beautiful Commission recently announced their Environmental Education Grant Program and Green Campus winners.
- 2015–16 Environmental Education Grant Program: Green Valley Elementary: Digging Into KinderGarden: North Ridge Elementary: Wild About Flowers, Bugs and Birds; Foster Village Elementary: Hydroponic Garden; and the Birdville Center of Technology and Advanced Learning (BCTAL): Bistro Solar-Powered Charging Station. (A total of $2,000 in funding will be provided for these projects.)
- Green Campus: Birdville High School, Green Valley Elementary and North Ridge Elementary. (Each school will receive a $150 cash prize to be used towards campus maintenance or beautification.)
