Birdville ISD Council of PTAs Hosting Virtual School Board Candidate Forum

The Birdville ISD Council of PTAs is hosting a virtual candidate forum on Wednesday, April 14 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. on Facebook Live. This event will feature individuals running for one of three open positions on BISD’s board of trustees. (All candidates running for the Board have been invited.) 

The forum can be viewed on Facebook Live @birdvilleisdcouncilpta. The event will also be broadcast on the District’s website at birdvilleschools.net. (There will be no in-person attendance.) 

Questions for the candidates may be submitted online at https://forms.gle/uNnyT8JhNUz2i6FQ9 through Monday, April 12 at 6 p.m. (Questions will not be accepted after the cutoff.)

Congratulations to the Birdville Council of PTAs State Reflections Contest Winners

Congratulations to the Birdville Council of PTAs state Reflections contest winners from BISD. There were 18 entries from BISD that advanced to state, and of those, nine received awards from Texas PTA. An awards ceremony for the state winners will be held Saturday, May 6 in the auditorium at MacArthur High School in San Antonio.

BISD winners are:

Music – Parker Meek, Porter Elementary, Award of Merit

Literature – Macy Dupuy, Smithfield Middle, Honorable Mention; and, Vanessa Campos, Haltom High, Honorable Mention

Photography – Leah Bolanos, Richland Middle, Award of Merit; Anna Phan, Watauga Middle, Award of Excellence; and, Dana McCurdy, Haltom High, Award of Merit

Visual Arts – Dakota Wyatt, Green Valley Elementary, Honorable Mention; Ben Rosenheim, North Richland Middle, Award of Merit; and, Dao Nhan, Birdville HS, Award of Excellence
