This year’s senior class graduation will be broadcast live, worldwide over the internet. For those that cannot watch it live, it will be broadcast afterwards on the ICB website. Graduation can be watched via any computer or mobile device, anywhere the internet is accessible.

Richland High School Principal Announced

Mark McCanlies

Birdville ISD Superintendent Dr. Darrell Brown announced the appointment of Mark McCanlies as principal of Richland High School. He is replacing Carla Rix, who is retiring at the end of the 2018–19 school year. 

McCanlies has been principal at Richland Middle School since 2017. Prior to Richland Middle School, he was an associate principal at Richland High School from 2010–17, assistant principal at North Ridge Middle School from 2006–10, a teacher/coach at Richland High School from 1989–2006, a teacher/coach at North Richland Junior High from 1988–89, and a teacher/coach at Crockett Junior High in Odessa from 1987–1988. 

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University and master’s degree from The University of Texas at Arlington. 

Third Annual Richland High Softball Game Benefiting Special Olympics

Come support Birdville ISD Special Olympics and Lady Rebel Softball as they come together for a friendly game of softball.

When: Tuesday, April 9, 1:302:30 p.m.

Where: Richland High School Softball Field

**Pay $5 for a shirt and receive FREE entry to the game**

Students: $1            Adults: $2

Students may attend the event during school hours IF they have less than 3 absences for the 6 weeks AND are passing ALL classes. Ticket or shirt purchase and event attendance is REQUIRED to not be counted absent for class.

ALL PROCEEDS WILL SUPPORT BIRDVILLE ISD SPECIAL OLYMPICS.

Richland High Band Wins Big at Mansfield Preview of Champions

Congratulations to the Richland High School Marching Band for finishing first overall at the Mansfield Preview of Champions. Richland also won Best Color Guard and Best Percussion in Class 6A. The band has three public performances scheduled for Oct. 11–13: Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Richland vs. Bell football game at the FAAC; Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. for a free community performance at Richland High; and Saturday, Oct. 13 at 9:30 a.m. for their exhibition performance at the BISD Marching Festival  at the FAAC.
