Birdville ISD Superintendent Dr. Gayle Stinson announced the appointment of Amanda Holman, Smith Elementary’s principal, as the principal for the new partner school, and Angela Limon, Francisco Elementary’s principal, as principal at the Academy at C.F. Thomas.
Holman has been principal at David E. Smith Elementary since 2021 and was the assistant principal on the campus from 2018–21. Prior to joining Smith Elementary, she was an elementary math academic coach for BISD from 2017–18, and a math interventionist at Walker Creek and North Ridge elementary schools from 2014–17. Holman was a fifth- and third-grade teacher at Walker Creek and Hardeman elementary schools, respectively from 2010–14.
Holman earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas Woman’s University.
Limon has been principal at W.T. Francisco Elementary since 2017. Before Francisco, she was the assistant principal at Foster Village Elementary from 2014–17, a math interventionist at West Birdville Elementary from 2011–14, a teacher/reading recovery specialist at Foster Village Elementary from 2006–11, and a teacher/reading recovery specialist at Richland Elementary from 1999–2006.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and master’s degree from Lamar University.
Mrs. Limon is replacing Dr. Sabrina Lindsey, who is retiring in May.
“I am excited to have two veteran principals/administrators to lead these campuses moving forward,” Dr. Stinson said. “They were chosen because of the leadership skills they bring to the table. I am confident they will lead their campuses to do remarkable things.”
Mrs. Holman and Mrs. Limon will continue in their current roles for the rest of the 2022–23 school year.
