Congratulations to the 10 BISD students named Texas All-State Musicians for 2021! They are:  

  • Alyssa Perrin (BHS, Alto 2), an All-Stater for all four years of high school;  
  • Leora Otteson (RHS, Soprano 1), an All-Stater for the second time;  
  • Kurt Growald (RHS, Tenor 2); 
  • Makenna Pollock (RHS, Soprano 2);  
  • Judah Rainey (RHS, Tenor 1); 
  • David Hernandez (HHS, Tenor 2); 
  • Cecily Mallou (RHS, Alto 2); 
  • Sophie Connolly (BHS, Eb Clarinet);

Richland High Band Wins Big at Mansfield Preview of Champions

Congratulations to the Richland High School Marching Band for finishing first overall at the Mansfield Preview of Champions. Richland also won Best Color Guard and Best Percussion in Class 6A. The band has three public performances scheduled for Oct. 11–13: Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Richland vs. Bell football game at the FAAC; Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. for a free community performance at Richland High; and Saturday, Oct. 13 at 9:30 a.m. for their exhibition performance at the BISD Marching Festival  at the FAAC.
