Custodian Teaches Students Art Techniques

Bill Scott, North Ridge Middle School custodian, recently came to work early to teach the advanced art class the art of marbling. Scott is a very gifted artist, and the campus is thrilled that he shared his talent and knowledge with the art students. The campus appreciates Scott for going above and beyond his duties at North Ridge to give students the best learning experience.

Birdville ISD Showcases Blended Learning for Other School Districts

Birdville ISD is combining the best in-person instruction and online technology to deliver student-centered learning

Blended learning takes place when a student learns at least in part online, with some element of student control over the time, place, path, and/or pace of their learning, while also enjoying the benefits that come with education at a brick-and-mortar school.  (Christensen Institute definition)

BISD’s blended teachers and school leaders will open classrooms and share their experiences with visitors from other school districts.

  • Thursday, February 15 – Two BISD campuses will host visitors from other districts who are implementing blended pilots through Raise Your Hand Texas grant support
    • 9:00– 11:30 a.m., Shannon High School
    • 1:00– 2:30 p.m., Richland High School’s English 1 & 2
