- Monday, Feb. 16 is a student holiday for BISD students and a Professional Learning Day for staff.
- BISD’s Spelling Bee will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 at the Thomas Coliseum. Campus champions will compete for the opportunity to advance to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Spelling Bee. Invited guests will include parents, principals, administrators, community members and campus runners-up.

- A beginning and intermediate sign language class is starting at Porter Elementary from 6:30–8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19 in the library. The eight-week class costs $25 per person or $40 for families up to four members. An optional $30 book may be purchased at class. - Birdville Council of PTAs will celebrate Founders Day, commemorating the establishment of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Thursday, Feb. 19 with dinner at 6 p.m. and the program beginning at 7 p.m. at the Thomas Coliseum. Students who have won at the PTA Council-level of the annual Reflections Arts Program will be recognized at this event. Dinner tickets are $10 each. - Richland High School’s choir is having a pancake breakfast and morning serenade from 8‒10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 at Applebee’s. Applebee’s is located at 6645 NE Loop 820 in North Richland Hills.
- Cheney Elementary is hosting the annual Haltom City Sport Stacking Invitational Tournament beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21. Cup stackers from BISD and surrounding districts will compete for a chance to be number one. There will be individual events as well as team relays. Concessions will be available.
