Birdville ISD students have partnered with the Northeast Richland Lions Club and Walmart on Rufe Snow and 820 to take up used eye glasses throughout the school district. During the month of October, students collected 648 pairs of glasses for those in need. Walmart will send the glasses to the Texas Lions Eyeglasses Recycling Center in Midland. The recycling center organizes optical training teams composed of Lions, doctors and opticians to work with Lions throughout Texas and in developing countries to redistribute the donated eyeglasses to those who need them.
