Congratulations to the Richland High School artists who received superior ratings in the Region Visual Arts Scholastic Competition hosted by Texas Art Educators. They are:
Van Ratsaphangthong, seventh- and eighth-grade Pre-AP math teacher at Watauga Middle School (WMS), was awarded a Horace Mann Scholarship to the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals’ (TASSP) Principal Academy. He will attend the conference for principals and aspiring principals this summer in San Antonio. The scholarship pays for the conference and all expenses. He was one of two Texas winners that Horace Mann selected. Ratsaphangthong is a graduate of BISD and has taught at WMS for six years.
Birdville ISD fourth grade teachers at Holiday Heights Elementary took their classrooms on the road to Austin with Education in Action’s “Proud to be Texan” experiential learning day program, 2/3/2012. Students visited the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Texas State Capitol and experienced what they are learning in fourth grade Texas History.
