Collegiate Academy of Birdville Applications Now Available!

Students at the Collegiate Academy of Birdville (CAB) have the opportunity to earn an associate degree from Tarrant County College while they earn their high school diploma at Haltom High School. Students can still choose to participate in band, athletics, theater, choir, or other extracurricular activities while enrolled in the program. This is an opportunity to earn a two-year degree at no additional expense to your family! 

Any current eighth grade student may apply. Students will be selected in a weighted lottery system. Only 60 students will be chosen. View Collegiate Academy of Birdville Application

The email address provided on the application will be our primary means of communication with applicants. The application for the CAB’s Class of 2028 closes at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16. 

Applicants will need to attend one of our Parent/Student Information nights:

  • December 5th Birdville High School Lecture Hall 6-7 p.m.
  • December 6th Haltom High School Omni Room 6-7 p.m.
  • December 7th Richland High School Omni Room 6-7 p.m.

Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching state finalist

Congratulations to North Ridge Middle School math teacher, Sara Steig (center) on being recognized at the Texas State Board of Education meeting as a Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching state finalist.

Birdville ISD is proud to announce that 12 BISD elementary schools and four BISD middle schools have been recognized in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2023–24 Best Schools rankings. These schools have demonstrated exceptional educational quality, earning their place among the best U.S. elementary and middle schools at both the state and national levels. The distinction of being ranked amidst the Best Public Schools reflects the commitment to academic excellence in the education of all students of these high-achieving schools. 

U.S. News & World Report thoroughly evaluated public schools across all 50 states and the District of Columbia for the 2023–2024 Best Schools rankings, an exhaustive process encompassing 45,236 eligible public elementary schools and 22,053 public middle schools.
