Eight outstanding student nominees from seven BISD schools participated in Education in Action’s summer 2023 Lone Star Leadership Academy camps. “An educator nominated each of these young leaders to participate based on demonstrated leadership ability, academic success, and involvement in school/community activities,” stated Monica Hayes, Education in Action Outreach Director, in the recent Education in Action press release.
BISD student participants (listed by campus) are:
Ella Hollis–5th Grade, Hardeman Elementary; Jordie Belcher–4th Grade, Smithfield Elementary; Annabelle Stough–4th Grade, Snow Heights Elementary; Maizie Blevins–4th Grade, Watauga Elementary; Gianna Bravo–4th Grade, Watauga Elementary; Darren Holmes–7th Grade, North Oaks Middle; Avery Sutton–8th Grade, North Ridge Middle; and Yosselin Morales–9th Grade, Haltom High.
