BISD Parents,
What an exciting time to be part of the Birdville ISD family!
School districts across the nation just celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week, and I hope you took a few moments to thank the individuals who have dedicated their lives to connecting with your students and guiding them on their educational journey. I still remember my favorite teacher growing up as a child. Mrs. Eldridge was special to me because she taught me not only how to write a research paper, but also modeled compassion and integrity.
This is just one important teacher whose path intersected mine on my road to becoming a teacher myself. For more than 30 years now, my mission has been to help students experience opportunities that will set them on a course for success after high school. I know each of you has someone in your life who believed in you and impacted you in a positive way when you were a student. And someone in Birdville ISD is doing that for your child. It’s never too late to send them a note of appreciation.
Evidence of student achievement and individual accomplishment is all around us as we participate in award ceremonies, staff appreciation events and upcoming graduation ceremonies. As we close the chapter on another successful year in BISD, we are already planning for the 2023–24 school year. Our leadership team is working with campus principals to develop the budget, identify resources to support students, and create meaningful professional development opportunities for our staff. Our human resources department is also working with campus administrators to find and hire quality teachers to join our BISD family.
Enrollment is now open for returning and new students who wish to attend Birdville ISD in August. Compared to this time last year, Prekindergarten, Kindergarten and Open Enrollment registrations are all higher than they were last year. Enrolling your returning student now means that the District can plan and appropriately prepare for the arrival of all students, so please don’t delay. This also helps as we assess how many available seats we have for our open enrollment students.
Thank you for playing an important role in this partnership to ensure your child’s success. Visit birdvilleschools.net/onlineregistration to save your child’s seat today. Together with our classroom teachers and support staff, we want to make sure every child receives a unique and personalized educational experience as part of the Birdville ISD family.
Sincerely,
Gayle Stinson, Ed.D.
Superintendent
