Board of Trustees Meeting Summary
The Board of Trustees met in regular session on Thursday, August 23. The following link will provide you a summary of actions taken at their meeting.
Trustees Approve Administrative Appointment
At their regular meeting, Birdville ISD’s Board of Trustees approved the administrative appointments of Katie Moran as principal of Grace E. Hardeman Elementary School. Moran is replacing Lindi Talbott, who is also retiring at the end of the school year.
She has been an assistant principal at Mullendore Elementary School since 2015. Prior to being full-time at Mullendore, she was an assistant principal between Cheney and Mullendore elementary schools from 2013–15; a Title I reading teacher at Birdville Elementary from 2012–13; and a teacher at Birdville Elementary from 2002–12.
Moran earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and master’s degree from Dallas Baptist University.

2017-18 Free and Reduced School Meal Application is Available Online
The 2016–17 Free and Reduced School Meal accounts expire Monday, Oct. 2. (Families must reapply for this program every year.) Birdville ISD provides an online application to help make the process of applying for this program easier and more convenient for parents.

Solar Eclipse Information
BISD will not be taking students outside on Monday, Aug. 21 to view the solar eclipse. All normal outside activities will be moved indoors for Monday only. If you have questions, please contact your child’s campus.
