BISD is sponsoring “Dyslexia–How to Support my Child with a Learning Disorder” on Thursday, Oct. 27, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Birdville Center of Technology and Advanced Learning (BCTAL). Tricia Quisenberry, dyslexia outreach coordinator for the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders, will be on hand to present information designed to help parents learn more about dyslexia and the characteristics associated with this disorder, and to provide useful strategies to help parents support their child(ren). Haltom Middle School is hosting a Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) family STEM night on Friday, Oct. 28, 5-7:30 p.m. in the library. There will be many interactive activities focusing on engineering, scientific reasoning and computer science.
