In celebration of National Dyslexia Awareness Month, BISD is sponsoring a “Dyslexia Parent Education Night” from 6:30–7:30 p.m. Oct.13 in the library at Binion Elementary. This night is an opportunity for parents of students with dyslexia to learn about Learning Ally, and the benefits that assistive technology can have in improving reading. The event is free. Birdville ISD’s Special Education Department is having three informational parent meetings for parents and/or guardians of students currently served by PDS, IDS, Developmental Skills, Transition, IBC, Homeroom Resource, SELF and POST. Meetings are: Monday, Feb. 9 in the Omni Room at Haltom High School, Tuesday, Feb. 10 in the Omni Room at Richland High School, and Thursday, Feb. 12 in the Lecture Hall at Birdville High School.
