Online Application for P-EBT is now open

This letter is intended for families with:

  • Children who received SNAP food benefits for March 2020
  • Children who are certified for free or reduced-price school meals during the 2019-20 Texas school year
  • Children who attend a school that offers free meals to all students (Community Eligibility Provision or Provision 2)

If you do not meet at least one of these criteria, you are not eligible for the benefits described below.

Dear Parent or Guardian,

Your household may be eligible to receive Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) benefits to buy food. P-EBT is for children 5-18 years old who received SNAP food benefits for the month of March 2020 and children up to 21 years old who are certified for free or reduced-price meals at school in Texas during the 2019-20 school year. Children that attend a school that offers free meals to all students (Community Eligibility Provision or Provision 2) are also eligible.

The online application for P-EBT is now open. Please review the criteria to see if you need to apply to receive these benefits. The application link is provided below.

Families that DID get SNAP benefits for the month of March 2020

  • You do not need to apply for children ages 5-18. Benefits were loaded onto your existing SNAP card by May 22.

Notes from Dr. Brown: Fall 2020 – What is happening with school?

Since early March, we all have been making changes in every aspect of our lives because of COVID-19. Spring and summer events were canceled or transitioned to virtual functions. Social distancing is on everyone’s mind. Should I wear a mask or not? Our lives have changed.

Birdville ISD is working hard to develop plans for the reopening of schools for the 2020–21 school year. There are many components involved in each of the scenarios being discussed. Campus and classroom operations, transportation, meal service, visitors and mentors, shared access points, etc. all represent the tip of the iceberg.

Though BISD is waiting for the Texas Education Agency and health department officials to provide more direction, we are looking at multiple options for reopening schools. Each option being considered will be built on the foundation of student and staff safety. However, we hope by Aug. 17 that the return to school looks more normal, and everyone is back in a classroom.

As soon as we have more information, the details of the plan will be finalized and shared with the BISD family. Until then, know that we are hard at work and look forward to getting all of our students and staff back in school.

Graduation 2020: Additional Ticket Information

Pick up of tickets: The initial five (5) premium seat tickets for each graduate’s family can be picked up at their high school on either Wednesday, June 10 or Thursday, June 11 from 8–10 a.m. or 5–7 p.m. The individual picking up the tickets will need identification (either a driver’s license for family/student or a student ID) to verify the appropriate person is picking up the tickets. There will be no other pickup days or locations. Since the tickets are randomly selected, there is absolutely no benefit in showing up early at the pickup location on June 10 or June 11. There is no Will Call Window at Globe Life Field.

Tickets for small children: The Rangers are not requiring a ticket for children 36” and shorter that will be sitting in the lap of an adult. However, if the child needs a seat, they will be required by the Rangers to have a ticket.
