Fourth graders from Birdville ISD’s Richland Elementary traveled to Waco and Austin on an Education in Action Discover Texas Field Trip February 19th to experience what they are learning in fourth grade Texas History. Students visited the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, the Texas State Capitol, and the Bullock Texas State History Museum.
Haltom High School’s 5K Buff Run begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28 at Haltom HS. Registration is $20 for adults and $15 for students.

Congratulations to Jenna Ruhlman from Smithfield Middle School for being selected as one of the 37 recipients of the Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation Scholarship for the 2014‒15 school year. Finalists from BISD include: Angel Oviedo and Caroline Berry from North Oaks Middle; Salera Garcia and Tristan Garcia from North Richland Middle; Harrison Caltagirone from Smithfield Middle; and Amara Holcombe and Dylan Walker from Watauga Middle. From across the metroplex, 234 applications were submitted and these students rose to the top with their outstanding academic and community success.
