Six business students from Haltom High School, the Shannon Learning Center and the Birdville Center of Technology and Advanced Learning (BCTAL) won at state and competed at the National Business Professionals of America Conference in Chicago. Loan Tran, Haltom High School, won first place in Management, Marketing and Human Resources. Also, BISD had 18 marketing students who won at state and competed at the International DECA Career Development Conference in Salt Lake City. Two Birdville High School teams were international finalists and one team was a medal winners placing in the Top Ten. Winners were:  Payton Albert and Lyndee Lemmons in Sports and Entertainment Marketing Operations Research; and Kelsie Beal and Sarah Wheatfall in Finance Operations Research. Additionally. two BISD students served Texas DECA as state officers at the International Conference. They were:  Holly Norris, state reporter, and Daniel Whitted, state secretary.
