{"id":8256,"date":"2021-05-28T10:00:42","date_gmt":"2021-05-28T15:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.birdvilleschools.net\/district\/wordpress\/?p=8256"},"modified":"2021-05-28T10:08:51","modified_gmt":"2021-05-28T15:08:51","slug":"pandemic-electronic-benefit-transfer-p-ebt-benefits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.birdvilleschools.net\/district\/wordpress\/pandemic-electronic-benefit-transfer-p-ebt-benefits\/","title":{"rendered":"Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Benefits"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This letter is for families with:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Children&nbsp;who are&nbsp;certified for free or reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).&nbsp;<\/li><li>Children&nbsp;who&nbsp;attend a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) or Provision 2 (P2) school that offers free meals to all students.*&nbsp;<\/li><li>Children born&nbsp;after&nbsp;Aug.&nbsp;1, 2014,&nbsp;in families&nbsp;who&nbsp;received SNAP benefits for at least one month between October 2020 and&nbsp;June 2021.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*Contact your<\/em><em>&nbsp;child\u2019s<\/em><em>&nbsp;school if you have questions about&nbsp;<\/em><em>the school\u2019s<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><em>participati<\/em><em>on<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><em>in&nbsp;<\/em><em>these programs.&nbsp;<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you do not meet&nbsp;at least&nbsp;one of&nbsp;the&nbsp;requirements listed above, your child is&nbsp;not eligible for&nbsp;the&nbsp;P-EBT&nbsp;benefits described below.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A picture containing food, table\n\nDescription automatically generated\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/blog.birdvilleschools.net\/200ceee1-5b12-4446-b46d-83199b36b2a1\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear Parent or Guardian,\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enrolled students&nbsp;(up to 21 years of age)&nbsp;in&nbsp;families&nbsp;that temporarily&nbsp;lost access to free or reduced-price school meals&nbsp;for the 2020\u20132021 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic&nbsp;may be&nbsp;eligible&nbsp;to receive&nbsp;Pandemic&nbsp;Electronic&nbsp;Benefit&nbsp;Transfer&nbsp;(P-EBT). P-EBT benefits can be used&nbsp;to buy&nbsp;food&nbsp;from any retailer that accepts&nbsp;the&nbsp;Lone Star&nbsp;Card.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The application for P-EBT&nbsp;will&nbsp;open&nbsp;<strong>June 2, 2021<\/strong>.&nbsp;<strong>G<\/strong><strong>o to&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/yourtexasbenefits.com\/Learn\/PEBT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>yourtexasbenefits.com\/Learn\/PEBT<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;to apply<\/strong>.&nbsp;<em>The application link is case<\/em><em>&#8211;<\/em><em>sensitive.<\/em>&nbsp;<strong>The deadline to apply is<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Aug<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;13, 2021<\/strong>.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Who Needs to Apply?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A parent\/guardian&nbsp;<strong>must apply<\/strong>&nbsp;if&nbsp;eligible child&nbsp;is:&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Enrolled in K-12&nbsp;and&nbsp;NOT part of a family&nbsp;who&nbsp;received SNAP benefits for at least one month between August 2020 and June 2021.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Born&nbsp;on or&nbsp;before Aug.&nbsp;1, 2014,&nbsp;and&nbsp;is&nbsp;part of a family&nbsp;who&nbsp;received SNAP benefits for the first time during the 2020\u20132021 school year in May or June 2021.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A parent\/guardian&nbsp;<strong>does not have to apply<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>if&nbsp;eligible child&nbsp;is:&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Born&nbsp;on or&nbsp;before Aug.&nbsp;1, 2014,&nbsp;and&nbsp;is&nbsp;part of a family&nbsp;who&nbsp;received SNAP benefits for at least one month between August 2020 and April 2021.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Born after Aug.&nbsp;1, 2014,&nbsp;and&nbsp;is&nbsp;part of a family&nbsp;who&nbsp;received SNAP benefits for at least one month between October 2020 and June 2021.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about eligibility, applying and getting your P-EBT benefits, visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/hhs.texas.gov\/services\/health\/coronavirus-covid-19\/coronavirus-covid-19-information-texans\/pandemic-ebt-p-ebt-due-covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hhs.texas.gov\/pebt<\/a>,&nbsp;or call the&nbsp;P-EBT&nbsp;Call Center at 833-442-1255,&nbsp;Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.\u20136 p.m. Central&nbsp;time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This letter is for families with:&nbsp;
