The&nbsp;5,519&nbsp;surveys received&nbsp;will help District leaders plan for reopening school, meeting the needs of students, and understanding the concerns and challenges that&nbsp;are faced&nbsp;by our community.&nbsp; What follows is a snapshot of information critical to this process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Eighty-eight (88)<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;percent<\/strong>&nbsp;of&nbsp;families&nbsp;were satisfied with the learning that took place during school closure in the spring of 2020.&nbsp;<\/li><li>While&nbsp;<strong>64<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;percent<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>of&nbsp;families&nbsp;reported a preference for a return to a traditional in-person school setting with health and safety precautions in place,&nbsp;<strong>18<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;percent<\/strong>&nbsp;of&nbsp;families&nbsp;were unsure about a return, and&nbsp;<strong>18<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;percent<\/strong>&nbsp;preferred a resumption of distance learning with a more robust curriculum and learning experience than was presented in the spring.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Of the&nbsp;families&nbsp;expressing concerns for a face-to-face return,&nbsp;<strong>38<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;percent<\/strong>&nbsp;were likely to keep their children at home and expect online learning in the fall.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Sixty-five<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>(65)&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>percent<\/strong>&nbsp;of&nbsp;families&nbsp;expressed concern for the social and emotional well-being of their children at the start of the upcoming school year.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Ninety-eight<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>(98)&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>percent<\/strong>&nbsp;of the&nbsp;families reported that the District&nbsp;provided&nbsp;adequate communications to&nbsp;families&nbsp;during school closure.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally,&nbsp;families&nbsp;shared thousands of comments with ideas&nbsp;which focused on the following topics:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>attending to\u00a0the health and safety of\u00a0children;\u00a0<\/li><li>following the recommended CDC\/TEA guidelines for reopening\u00a0school;\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>transitioning to a single learning management system to simplify communications\/instruction for online\u00a0learning;\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>presenting a rigorous course of\u00a0study;\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>addressing potential gaps in student\u00a0learning;\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>providing\u00a0social and emotional support to\u00a0children;\u00a0<\/li><li>addressing\u00a0challenges to families if certain reopening scenarios were to\u00a0be implemented;
