Birdville ISD Superintendent Dr. Darrell Brown announced the appointments\u00a0of\u00a0four principals and the director of special education\u00a0at\u00a0the\u00a0April 16 Board meeting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\"Barlett\"Donald Bartlett<\/strong>\u00a0was\u00a0named\u00a0principal of\u00a0Jack C. Binion\u00a0Elementary. He\u00a0is replacing\u00a0Hilda Hager, who\u00a0has recently accepted a position at Central Administration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Bartlett\u00a0has been the assistant\u00a0director of\u00a0athletics\u00a0in Keller ISD\u00a0since 2018. Prior to 2018, he\u00a0was\u00a0principal\u00a0at Timber Creek High School in Keller ISD\u00a0from 2016\u201318\u00a0and\u00a0principal at\u00a0South Grand Prairie 9th\u00a0Grade Center in Grand Prairie ISD from 2013\u201316.\u00a0He has served in various other education positions at the elementary and secondary levels\u00a0since 1999.<\/p>\n

He earned his bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of North Texas and master\u2019s degree from Dallas Baptist University.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Jim Calvin, Ed.D.<\/strong>,\u00a0was\u00a0named\u00a0principal of\u00a0Green Valley\u00a0Elementary. He\u00a0is replacing\u00a0Dawn Demas, who\u00a0is retiring at the end of the 2019\u201320 school year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Calvin has been the principal at REALM Secondary School in Burleson ISD since 2019. Prior to Burleson, he was principal of STEAM Academy at Stribling Elementary in Burleson ISD from 2015\u201319,\u00a0 elementary principal of Fort Worth Christian School from 2011\u201314, and principal at Grapevine Elementary from 2002\u201311. He has served in various other education positions since 1989.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He earned his bachelor\u2019s degree from Texas Wesleyan University and his master\u2019s and doctorate degrees from Texas Christian University.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\"conklin\"<\/p>\n

Shane Conklin, Ed.D.<\/strong>, was named principal of Major Cheney Elementary. He is replacing Darrell Brown, who is leaving the District at the end of the 2019\u201320 school year.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Conklin has been assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction in Decatur ISD since 2018. Prior to Decatur, he was director of student and staff services in Coppell ISD from 2016\u201318, director of human resources in Granbury ISD from 2015\u201316, director of secondary education and leadership in White Settlement ISD from 2013\u201315. He has served in various other education positions since 1999.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He earned his bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of Northern Iowa, his master\u2019s degree from The University of Texas at Arlington, and doctorate from Nova Southeastern University.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Merritt\u00a0Dobecka<\/strong>,\u00a0was\u00a0named\u00a0principal of\u00a0Mullendore\u00a0Elementary. She\u00a0is replacing\u00a0Billy Pope, who\u00a0is retiring at the end of the 2019\u201320 school year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dobecka has been the assistant principal and campus behavior coordinator at Walker Creek Elementary since 2017. Prior to Walker Creek, she was an advanced academic interventionist in BISD from 2014\u201317, and curriculum specialist gifted and talented in Northwest ISD from\u00a0\u00a02013\u201314. She has also served in other administrative and teaching positions since 1993.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

She\u00a0earned her bachelor\u2019s degree from\u00a0Texas A&M\u00a0University and master\u2019s degree from\u00a0the University of North Texas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Tamera Diller<\/strong>,\u00a0was\u00a0named director of special education. She\u00a0is replacing\u00a0Laura Holt, who retired\u00a0from the District\u00a0in January.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Diller has been senior director of special education in Beaumont ISD since 2016. Prior to Beaumont, she was director of special education in Marlin ISD from
\n2014\u201316, itinerant deaf education teacher in Dallas ISD from 2013\u201314, special education teacher in Lewisville ISD from 1998\u20132013, and a special education teacher in Dallas ISD from 1997\u201398.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She earned her bachelor\u2019s degree from Texas Woman\u2019s University and master\u2019s degrees from Texas Tech University and Dallas Baptist University.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
