Based on the&nbsp;survey&nbsp;results, the&nbsp;District&nbsp;is&nbsp;prepared&nbsp;to distribute Chromebooks&nbsp;beginning&nbsp;Monday, March 23. In order to provide internet connectivity and devices to as many homes as possible, the District is limiting the number of Chromebooks that&nbsp;may&nbsp;be checked&nbsp;out&nbsp;to&nbsp;one&nbsp;per household&nbsp;for&nbsp;students&nbsp;to share.&nbsp;Principals will &#8220;screen&#8221; the requests for &#8220;wants&#8221; vs. &#8220;needs&#8221; to ensure all of the \u201cneeds\u201d are met first. Once the &#8220;needs&#8221; are addressed, the District will move on to supporting the &#8220;wants&#8221; and increasing the number of devices per household.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The devices&nbsp;will be&nbsp;checked&nbsp;out at three distribution sites&nbsp;using&nbsp;a&nbsp;drive-thru&nbsp;method:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Haltom High School: 5501 Haltom Rd., Haltom City, TX 76137&nbsp;<\/li><li>Haltom Middle School: 5000 Hires Ln., Haltom City, TX 76117&nbsp;<\/li><li>Foster Village Elementary: 6800 Springdale Ln., North Richland Hills, TX 76182&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Many communications&nbsp;companies are offering to help families concerned about internet connectivity during&nbsp;this time. The following is a list of available options:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/about.att.com\/pages\/COVID-19.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>AT&amp;T<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Offering open hotspots, unlimited data to existing companies, and $10\/month plans to low-income families.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.charter.com\/newsroom\/charter-to-offer-free-access-to-spectrum-broadband-and-wifi-for-60-days-for-new-K12-and-college-student-households-and-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Charter<\/strong><\/a><strong>:&nbsp;<\/strong>Offering<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>free internet for two months.&nbsp;<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.comcast.com\/covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Comcast<\/strong><\/a><strong>:&nbsp;<\/strong>Offering free&nbsp;WiFi&nbsp;for two months to low-income families, plus all Xfinity hotspots are free to the public during this time.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.charter.com\/newsroom\/charter-to-offer-free-access-to-spectrum-broadband-and-wifi-for-60-days-for-new-K12-and-college-student-households-and-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Spectrum<\/strong><\/a>: Offering 60 days free internet service to new customers.
