With the onset of winter, and the threat of snow and ice, it is important for the BISD community to know the&nbsp;District has an established plan to determine whether schools will be open, delayed or closed. The&nbsp;District attempts to&nbsp;make a decision&nbsp;about delaying or closing as soon as possible, usually by 5:30 a.m.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the superintendent determines to delay or close school, the&nbsp;District\u2019s phone&nbsp;messaging&nbsp;system will be&nbsp;activated&nbsp;and the major radio and television stations will be notified. Also, the&nbsp;District will post this information on the District\u2019s website, Facebook, Twitter,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.birdvilleschools.net\/district\/wordpress\/\" target=\"_blank\">Birdville ISD&nbsp;News<\/a>, and the District\u2019s main voicemail at 817-547-5700.
