At\ntheir regular meeting, Birdville ISD\u2019s Board of Trustees announced five\nadministrative appointments. Joseph L. Showell, Ph.D. was named executive\ndirector of student services. He is replacing Dr. Rick Kempe, who is retiring at the end of the\nschool year. Monica L. Uphoff, Ed.D. was named director of planning, assessment and research. She is replacing Dr. David\nHolland, who is retiring at the end of the school year. LeAnn D. Carroll was\nnamed director of counseling services. She is replacing Donna Layer, who is\nretiring at the end of the school year. Tamara Pope was named principal at\nBirdville Elementary. She is replacing Cheri Wagoner, who is retiring at the\nend of the school year. Nathan Frymark was named principal at Stowe Elementary.\nHe is replacing Mike Moon who is taking another position in the District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joseph\nL. Showell, Ph.D. has\nbeen executive director of student services in Lancaster ISD since 2018. He\nalso was principal at Lancaster High School from 2012\u201317. Prior to Lancaster,\nhe was an administrator and principal in Grand Prairie ISD from 2007\u20132012;\nprincipal and dean of instruction in Dallas ISD from 2001\u20132005; assistant\nprincipal and teacher\/coach in Grapevine Colleyville ISD from 1996\u20132001; and\nteacher\/coach in Hurst Euless Bedford ISD from 1993\u201396.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\nearned his bachelor\u2019s degree from Texas A&M Commerce, master\u2019s and\ndoctorate degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monica L. Uphoff, Ed.D. has been the assistant\ndirector of assessment\/coordinator of assessment in BISD since 2012. She also\nwas an assistant consultant executive with HMH\/Riverside from 2010\u201312; director of assessment and accountability\nwith  Coppell ISD from 2007\u201310; secondary coordinator of mathematics in\nDenton ISD from 2006\u201307;\nand data analyst for research and evaluation, math skills specialist and\nteacher in Aldine ISD from 1989\u20132006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\nearned her bachelor\u2019s degree from Illinois State University, master\u2019s and\ndoctorate degrees from the University of Houston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LeAnn\nD. Carroll has been the lead counselor at Haltom High School since 2010, and a\ncounselor at Haltom since 2001. Prior to Haltom High, she was a secondary\nscience teacher in Oklahoma from 1992\u20131999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She earned her bachelor\u2019s degree from Northeastern Oklahoma State University and master\u2019s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tamara Pope has been assistant principal at Birdville Elementary\nsince 2014. She split time as assistant principal between Birdville and\nRichland elementary school during the 2014\u201315 school year; third\nand fourth grades at Francisco Elementary from 2000\u201314; and elementary Spanish and fifth\ngrade teacher at the Academy at C.F. Thomas from 1997\u20132000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\nearned her bachelor\u2019s degree from Texas Wesleyan University and master\u2019s degree\nfrom the University of Texas at Arlington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nathan Frymark, Ed.D. has been assistant principal at Haltom\nMiddle School since 2016. Prior to Haltom Middle, he was the assistant principal\nat Stowe Elementary from 2015\u201316; assistant principal\nat Bowie Middle School in Irving ISD from 2013\u201315; dean of students at Austin Middle School in Irving ISD from\n2012\u201313; and department chair, English as a second language teacher and Spanish\nteacher at Richland High School from 2008\u201312.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\nearned his bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and master\u2019s\nand doctorate degrees from Dallas Baptist University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
