He was recognized at a ceremony at Texas Christian University on May 14, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Duke TIP\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/tip.duke.edu\/programs\/7th-grade-talent-search\">7th Grade Talent Search<\/a> identifies students across the United States who have scored at or above the 95th percentile on a grade-level standardized test. As part of the program, these academically talented students take above-level college-entrance exams to learn more about their abilities. Duke TIP then hosts annual recognition ceremonies to honor the seventh graders who scored the highest on these ACT or SAT exams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are extremely proud to recognize our remarkably talented\u00a0students who\u00a0have demonstrated key\u00a0aspects of their academic potential\u00a0by achieving scores on the ACT or SAT\u00a0commensurate with half of all college-bound high school seniors,\u201d says Shawna Young, Executive Director of Duke TIP. \u201cAs an alum of our 7th Grade Talent Search,\u00a0I still remember how it felt to be recognized by Duke and TIP in seventh grade, as well as my excitement and anxiety at taking the SAT at such a young age. As an\u00a0organization, we cherish the\u00a0opportunity to celebrate each of our ceremonies honorees for such an\u00a0outstanding\u00a0accomplishment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Working with host academic institutions, Duke TIP sponsors thirty-six ceremonies in sixteen states throughout April, May, and June. Speakers include university administrators and professors from the host institutions, state and government officials, and accomplished former Duke TIP students.
