\nThe Birdville Center of Technology and Advanced Learning\u2019s (BCTAL) robotics team recently advanced to the Regional competition. On Feb. 13, the robotics team won the Vex Robotics Competition in Cumby, Texas. The win qualifies them for the Regional competition and a competition in Iowa in April. (A first or second place finish in one of these will secure them a place at the Vex World Robotics event.) The robot was built entirely by BCTAL students. The robotics team has been working on their current robot since summer 2015. The event in Cumby included 25 teams from Keller, Sachse, Tyler, Diana, Como, Bonham, Wolfe City, Royce City, Paris and Cumby. The Vex Robotics Competition is the first event win for sponsor Matthew Pitner. Pitner is the BCTAL\u2019s 2016 Campus Teacher of the Year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
