{"id":3019,"date":"2016-01-12T12:14:53","date_gmt":"2016-01-12T18:14:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.birdvilleschools.net\/district\/wordpress\/?p=3019"},"modified":"2016-01-12T12:14:53","modified_gmt":"2016-01-12T18:14:53","slug":"jan-12-2016-bisd-named-finalist-for-5-million-raise-your-hand-texas-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.birdvilleschools.net\/district\/wordpress\/jan-12-2016-bisd-named-finalist-for-5-million-raise-your-hand-texas-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"Jan. 12, 2016 &#8211; BISD Named Finalist for $5 Million Raise Your Hand Texas Grant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.birdvilleschools.net\/district\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Unknown.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-3020 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.birdvilleschools.net\/district\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Unknown.png\" alt=\"Unknown\" width=\"271\" height=\"129\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>TEN SCHOOL\/DISTRICT GRANT FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR $5 MILLION RAISE YOUR HAND TEXAS BLENDED LEARNING INITIATIVE<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Five winners to each receive $500,000 and technical support over three years &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>AUSTIN, TX (January 11, 2016) \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.raiseyourhandtexas.org\/\">Raise Your Hand Texas<\/a> today revealed the 10 finalist schools and districts \u2013 winnowed from 75 semifinalists \u2013 who remain under consideration for the $5 million <a href=\"http:\/\/www.raiseyourhandtexas.org\/programs\/blended\/\">Raising Blended Learners demonstration initiative<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The ten finalists include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Birdville ISD<\/li>\n<li>Cisco ISD<\/li>\n<li>Cypress-Fairbanks ISD<\/li>\n<li>Georgetown ISD<\/li>\n<li>Grand Prairie Young Women\u2019s Leadership Academy<\/li>\n<li>KIPP Houston<\/li>\n<li>Pasadena ISD<\/li>\n<li>Point Isabel ISD<\/li>\n<li>Tulia ISD<\/li>\n<li>Ysleta ISD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Teams representing these 10 finalists will attend a workshop in February to receive professional assistance in further refining their blended learning plans. Five winners, to be announced as demonstration sites in April, will each receive up to $500,000 in grants and technical implementation support for three years.
