Erin Rocha, a proud Birdville ISD graduate and current senior at Texas Woman’s University (TWU), served as the team lead for the University’s undergraduate kinesiology team (“Team Pleiades”) representing TWU’s School of Health Promotion and Kinesiology in NASA’s TSGC Design Challenge. Through the TSGC Design Challenge, students have an opportunity to identify a research objective of importance to NASA and develop a solution for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the 19 college teams that participated in the competition, Team Pleiades, represented by Erin and four of her fellow TWU seniors, was the only all-female team and<\/em> the only team representing a kinesiology school in the two-day competition. In addition to winning first-place overall, Team Pleiades also took first place in peer review and presentation and second place in the poster\/best model category.
