This plan represents hundreds of hours of evaluating facilities in BISD.<\/p>\n<p>Kristin Wheeler, Bond Planning Committee member, told Trustees, \u201cThe message you continue to hear from this Committee is, \u2018This is a financially prudent package. It gets us moving in the right direction\u2014a direction we must continue to follow and with great conviction, commit to continue. Why? Because it is what is right for our children.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Why was the Committee\u2019s message so strong? It is because they quickly came to realize that doing nothing to our facilities means,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our financial resources will suffer;<\/li>\n<li>Our facilities will continue to suffer;<\/li>\n<li>Our staff will continue to suffer;<\/li>\n<li>Our communities will suffer;<\/li>\n<li>Our business community will continue to suffer; and<\/li>\n<li>Most importantly, current and future generations of students will suffer due to limited services we will be able to provide.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The plan being recommended to the Board from the Bond Planning Committee is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rebuild North Richland Middle School;<\/li>\n<li>Rebuild The Academy at West Birdville and Birdville Elementary School;<\/li>\n<li>Provide for safe and secure science labs;<\/li>\n<li>Enhance safety and security;<\/li>\n<li>Provide for technology needs;<\/li>\n<li>Improve facility equity among our high schools; and<\/li>\n<li>Address critical renovation needs throughout the district.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Committee made some bold steps in their recommendation to the Board.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">At this time, the Board of Trustees is reviewing the plan which positively impacts every campus and every student.
