North Ridge Middle DI Team Models Responsible Citizenship

North Ridge Middle School’s Destination Imagination (DI) team was recently invited to the Safe Place headquarters in Fort Worth/Tarrant County to meet with staff members and first responders within their program. The DI team chose to form a community partnership with Safe Place while working on their DI Project Outreach challenge. While at the Safe Place, the director took pictures of the students for use in their upcoming campaign, “Be Their Voice.” The students discovered that because of the video presentation they gave in January, Safe Place has had a marked increase in calls to their facility. The team made a wonderful impact on their community. These students are an example of Responsible Citizenship as defined in BISD’s Portrait of a Graduate.
